Musical Paintings
This unique fusion between vision and sound is the fruit of a collaboration between Jean Pierre and Sean O'Hagan's High Llamas. The two artists have worked closely together since 2001. Sean O'Hagan creates original symphonies by mixing acoustic instruments, electronic sounds and urban noises; and Jean Pierre Muller uses his established techniques of layered image assemblage, text, and fragments.
To date two exist, Waterloo to Waterloo, which is comprised of square panels and The Musical Wheel, a triptych of circles. Each sculpture houses a looped musical composition responsive to touch acting as a remix tool giving the audience the chance to invent new musical compositions. |
